Where Do I Send My Payments ?

You should send your payments directly to the insurance company not your agent. you should receive a self addressed envelope from the insurance company along  with your bill. If an envelope was not received, click on the link below to see a list of insurance company billing addresses.

What If My Payment Is Late ?

If your payment is for a Renewal of your policy, your policy may be cancelled by the Insurance company.   You should contact your agent to verify whether or not you need to reapply for a new policy.

If your payment is an installment of an existing policy but Not a Renewal premium, you should send your payment as soon as possible to the Insurance Company, with the additional late fees included.

Can I Send A Payment Early ?

Yes! Make sure when sending a payment that you include your policy number on your check or money order.

How Will I Know When My Bill Is Due?

Insurance Policies typically run for 3,6,9, or 12 months. When you pay your first premium, you will be asked which payment options you would like; either 1 Full Payment or installments.

What If I Have To Make A Claim?

If you need to make a claim, you should first contact your Agent, who will collect all of the necessary information from you to start the claim. You should receive some forms in the mail requesting additional information from you by your Insurance Company.

When Can I Expect Payment If I Make A Claim?

The sooner you provide all of the necessary information to the insurance company, the sooner your claim will be processed. Make sure that you provide as much information as possible to speed the process along. Depending on the Complexity of your claim circumstances, you can expect your claim process to take from 6 weeks to 6 months. If you have any questions regarding your claim that is in progress, you should call your Claims adjuster at the Insurance Company.

Will My Premium be increased if I have a claim?

As a result of a loss, you premium may be increased depending on whether or not you were at fault in the accident. This will be determined by your claims adjuster upon completion of their investigation into your claim.

Can I get a discount on my policy?

Your insurance company offers many discounts which you may be eligible for if you meet one of the following criteria:

Prior Insurance - You must be able to prove up to 5 yrs of previous insurance.

Multi-Car Discounts - If you have more than one car on your policy. Both of the primary drivers must live in the same household.

Professional Discounts - If you are a Teacher, Engineer or Scientist registered by the state.

Mature Driver - You are considered a mature driver if you are over the age of 55 and have taken the mature driver course with the DMV.

Good Student - If you are a full-time student ( attend school at least 12 hrs per week) and can prove that you have attained a Grade Point Average of 3.0 or higher on your most current report card.

Multi Policy Discount - Some companies will provide an additional discount if you have more than one policy in force with them.

Does my insurance policy include Rental car coverage?

Yes! In most cases your insurance policy will cover you to drive a rental car. It is not necessary for you to purchase additional insurance from the rental car company when you rent a vehicle.

What should I do if I buy a new vehicle?

If you have just purchased a new vehicle, you should notify your insurance agent as soon as possible. Your insurance agent will need the following information: 

  1. Year of manufacture.
  2. Make and Model of vehicle.
  3. Color.
  4. Lien Holder (company that provided your loan if any). 
  5. Cost of Vehicle.
  6. Did you trade or sell your old vehicle.
  7. Vehicle Identification Number
  8. Odometer reading
  9. Primary vehicle operator

The Dealership requires that I have insurance before I drive my new car home. Does my existing policy cover me?

If you have just purchased a new vehicle, your existing auto insurance policy will cover you to drive the vehicle, however you must inform your insurance agent of the purchase as soon as possible. (see previous question)

Where should I take my vehicle if it needs repairs, as a result of an accident?

If you have auto insurance with Mercury Insurance group, a program known as CARS is available to you. CARS (Customer Authorized Repair Service) is a program that has been designed by Mercury Insurance group, to reduce the time that you are without your vehicle, and ensure Customer Satisfaction. Approved Auto Body repair shops have been pre-selected, and are inspected by Quality Control specialists appointed by Mercury in many areas of the country. Repairs performed at a CARS approved shop are guaranteed by Mercury Insurance for as long as you own the vehicle.

If you do not wish to have your vehicle repaired at a CARS approved shop or you do not have Auto Insurance with Mercury Insurance Group, you can take your vehicle to any other Auto Repair shop of your choice.

Items such as Jewelry, watches, paintings, and almost anything that you consider valuable. These can be endorsed to a home, condo or renters policy at additional premium.
*Note companies will require a current appraisal on valuable property endorsed onto policy.
